Well put. I thought the comparison to an American ban on assault weapons and the first step on the way to a dictatorship was not only misinformed but an insult to the spirit and intelligence of every holocaust survivor and soldier who fought for their release. Good Lord!

So what about the German Gun Laws signed into being on Nov. 11, 1938 that forbade the Jewish people from having firearms? What about the quote from Hitler that goes something like this,

"The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subject races to possess arms. History shows that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by so doing."

- Adolf Hitler

People who write articles like this are uneducated or they are pushing an agenda.

It might be worth reading the article you're criticizing before beginning your criticism:

"...the (Nov. '38) law wasn’t passed until after Kristallnacht and years of other beating and lynching of Jews, and after five years of anti-semitic legislation.... With that history preceding it, to say that the firearms law was what started the Holocaust is dangerously wrong and frankly ridiculous."

Maybe the process of using quotes in unfamiliar to you, but a "quote from Hitler that goes something like this," is not a quote. Hitler may have said "something like this", but right now, all I know is you did.

As to "People who write articles like this are uneducated or they are pushing an agenda.", I could say the same of people who argue with posts they haven't read and use quotes they haven't found. Care to try again?
